“In the late 00’s I stumbled across a super “fonky” sound called Skweee and was pulled right in. It was fresh, raw, weird and fun. So I decided to start yet another project and join the micro-genre fold of about 30 or so producers making it in the world at the time (almost all of them European, mostly from Skandanavia where it originated). I also showed it to my sister, Portable Morla, and we started making Skweee in our Electraswan project, and she started making it on her own as well under another alias…. Skweee is atypical music and mine is probably atypical Skweee, cuz that’s just the way it comes out. It’s such a liberating and creative style to work in. I’m glad it exists.

The tracks on this tape were recorded between 2009 and 2013 on a remote island in BC, then in a crusty house called the Moose Knuckle in Vancouver that should’ve been condemned, then in an actually condemned “old house” in rural WA. “Southwest Bassing Slope” appeared on Skweee Shanties The Third comp on Tiburoni Records, “Attack Of The Green Tomatoes” appeared on Dee Vee Skweee comp vía Digital Vomit and my Skweee Dub alter ego, Skweee Perry, contributed “Synthemania Riddim” to the 12” 45 comp, “Skweee Inna Dancehall”, on Ancient Robot Records. Skweee Perry also delivers some brand new dub versions on the B-Side and a freshly phattened up mastering of all the cuts.
